Tis the season to hibernate – I’ve been holding onto the last warm rays with scarves alias coats but even with gloves there’s no getting round a trip down to the cellar now headed for that bag labelled ‘winter clothes.’
The shock of it sent me straight up to the couch with a hot cup of tea and a blanket, like in those flu ads only I’m not at all ill. As I said, time to hibernate, to pretend it’s not happening. It’s taken me the better part of ten days to get over the shock and in fact the sun is shining and the leaves on our street are a surreal blend of bright yellow everywhere you look. (Why did I not see that before?)
So, ’tis the season (nearly) to be jolly and what with the Herbstmesse (annual Basle fair) to take people’s minds off the cold, and the sunny weather, it’s actually not all that bad.
And it’s NaNoWriMo, which is a hibernating of sorts, just you and your words for an entire month – I wish. It’s just not happening, it’s day 3 and it caught me unawares, I really didn’t know November was, well, here.
I do now, and have prepared for the oncome of words, but I’m all jittery inside.. so, they’re not, well, really coming.
A walk helps, a ride on the ferry, a trip to apple for a One2One, getting that translation I promised a friend by – November, (hey :)) done. And now, deep breath.
‘Tis the season to write.
Happy Writing 🙂
